Project Summary

Vintage Cave Honolulu is a 12,500 SF private “cave” restaurant hidden beneath Ala Moana Center. The Owner wanted to set the design theme around a cave-like experience to mimic the origins of the human settlements and European wineries. The use of rustic, natural materials enhances the theme.

Every item was inspired by the antique nature of restaurant. Not only are patrons provided a private dining experience, they are exposed to the world of wine and art. The restaurant has a self-contained wine cellar housing a variety of wine and over 500 personal wine lockers. Each wine locker door displays one of four custom design metal motifs that would be selected by each member for their personal locker.

Each room displays artwork from various eras and genres which transitions the restaurant into an intimate museum. Custom light fixtures were a huge influence in the display of the art collections as well as highlighting the overall theme. All the furniture pieces were hand-crafted into antique luxuries.
