Date Completed: 2020
Square Footage: 10,300 SF
PROJECT SUMMARY: The 10,300 SF renovation of the Lower Clubhouse of
Oahu Country Club was a design-assist project with Honolulu Builders and The Wilhelm Group. The membership’s priority was to update and expand the
existing Makai Grille/Bar and Al Fresco Dining areas, provide a large fitness center, and update the kitchen at the lower clubhouse level. Visual connections to the private golf course were provided to the dining areas and fitness center.
Design of the Lower Clubhouse spaces reflect a subtle nod to the long history of the club, as well as an appreciation of the natural beauty of their surroundings. The Makai Grille/ Bar now provides a direct connection to lanai spaces and Makai views from the clubhouse. Finishes like textured wood accent walls and the new layout reinforce the after-golf communal experience and, with the expanded amenities, provide a sports-oriented space for members and their guests. The Fitness Center was enlarged to provide expansive views of the golf course. New equipment and upgraded finishes create a workout area that reflects the new club aesthetic. The newly created Al Fresco Dining and Lanai provides membership with a family-oriented casual dining space. With operable window walls, tile floors and lighter wood finishes, the indoor-outdoor experience is designed to expand the club’s appeal and dining options.
